I picked up a sportered M1* ysterday at the Burnaby gun show. Typical cut down wood and sadly, a couple of holes drilled and tapped into it. A Mystery as to why the guy did it. He replaced the rear sight with a 22cal open sight. Oh well.
I had, by good fortune, a complete set of furniture never used and every other piece of metal never used. After my "refurb", everything on the rifle with the exception of barrel, receiver and bolt is new out of the box.
The only thing I still want to do is weld the holes over.
Now let's see if I can download the photos.
