That is acid core?
Might be a bit smokey when added to the pot.

Yep for sure smoky. Smelt outside in a junk pot and wear a respirator. Absorb flux with sawdust and scoop out. Repeat sawdust flux as required. Cast ingots. Ready to dilute with soft lead.
Works for me!

Relatively new at casting but what is the ratio for #2 alloy using pewter? I'm using WW's and have pure tin bars.

#2 is 5% sb and 5% sn. You would need to add both to coww. Add 4.5% tin and 2% antimony

About as clear as Chinese..........I'll go 9lbs ww and 1 lb 50/50 bar solder.

if you work out the cost using the 40/60 ratio, it costs more than$10/lb for tin

NEVER use acid core flux solders on electronics. The residue left can erode the connection over time. Use proper resin core flux solders.
