Why do people get caught up in what the FBI shoots. Who gives a rats azz. Enjoy the new 40 brother
Could not agree more lol.
Enjoy the new pistol and caliber, OP. Tinkering is my favourite hobby too! Cannot seem to resist.
Well, this one does not require much tinkering; had it to the range yesterday for the first time, and it really works. The trigger has a very long take up in single action compared to my NZ, and the double action is long and creepy, and may need a bit of work down the road. I had a few hangups due to a sharp lower edge on the steel frame insert portion of the ramp, and I will polish this up a bit. Other than that, the sights are the most visible of any of my other two Norincos, but it does shoot about 6" low at 20 yards. I will likely make up a taller rear sight at some point.
I have been shooting mine lots. The shooting low was me; after almost 1000 rounds, the point of impact has come up to almost where it should be. I have fired no factory ammo in it at all, but have loaded with 4 different bullets. Truncated cone lead feed well once I did a light polishing; the other three types were jacketed, lead, and copper plated round nose flat point. Lots of issues with these. I looked at SIGs and as a result widened the frame and the barrel feed ramp substantially; did further blending of both so that they mated without a step, then polished the hell out of it with a cylindrical felt and polishing compound in my pencil grinder. Feeding problems are gone!
Double action still sucks compared to my NZ85, but is getting a bit better. Easy to practice double action with the decocker.
Regarding the pistol itself; absolutely zero other issues with it!
