40 s&w 180 berry's bullets

Loaded up 10 each at 1.130" with N320 and 180 berrys.

3.4gr didn't cycle at all
3.5gr stovepiped
3.6gr cycled ~650 fps
3.7gr cycled ~680fps

Ejection was weak and basically just dropped the brass next to the gun. Will load 3.8 and 3.9 and see how that goes.

For N320, start with 3.8gr. to 4.3gr. oal 1.126 using 180 gr.bullet, same as TG, this load will not make major,

I agree about the loading.

However, see page 1. He is shooting production. There is no major.

He needs to make 125 pf

for a minor PF- 130-135, I would go with the middle weights 155gr-165, it will still be a soft shooting load, but will cycle the slide a liitle faster, the trjectory a little flatter plus more momentum to knock down a 25yards steel target.

Not really sure slide speed will be changed much if you keep the PF the same. Nor do I think your ability to knock down steel be much different. In fact taking steel at distance would be better suited to the heavier bullet as they tend to retain energy at distance versus lighter bullets. Point of impact is something to consider as this may change when you load to minor.

3.9gr gave me ~720fps. Works for me.

for a standard oal, 4.6- 5.2 is on the high side,.I used to do this powder charge but on a longer OAL 1.190-1.200, for a 2011 flatform, and the OP doesnt need major load.
