40 S&W and CamPro bullets

Does anyone here have experience with 180 grain CamPro bullet and W231?
The CamPro site lists 5 grains as max but also states that their bullets react like jacketed bullets. According to the Lyman 49th edition, 5 grains is a minimum charge. I don't plan on buying more powder till my 231 is gone so I hope someone has experience with this combo. I tried 5 grains and all is well. No signs of excessive pressure. I'd like to know if I can load it hotter? I like to feel the kick

The Hornady website shows 5.1gr as the max for a 180gr. Makes me think 231 is probably to fast for that weight of bullet. To get more power you'll likely have to switch powder.

5grns win231 should give you 975 fps or so

975 fps sounds like max load for a 180. Probably can't push it much faster... Lyman says 5.6 as max but that's a 180 jhp and as I read they use a .401 test barrel. their max fps is barely over 1000.

Using HP38 (identical to 231), I'm using 4.1gr to get 730fps from a Tanfoglio Stock3. Im downloading it though to make a 130 PF for IPSC production.
