40 s&w buldge (Glocked brass)

Does anyone know how to take the buldge out of a 40 s&w casing that was fired out of a glock 22? Is there a special die or will my RCBS resizing die fix this problem.

Lee makes a system called the bulge buster. You need a .40 S&W Lee Factory Crimp Die and the Bulge buster as an add on plus a regular reloading press. It pushes the entire shell through the Factory Crimp die sizing the bulge back to spec. Another maker makes a similar system. Hornady or Lyman I think.

You need:
Lee FCD .40 90862 $15.90
Lee Bulge Buster 90487 $12.95
 
Plus a solidly mounted single stage press.

Also, there was a fellow from France selling a (IMO) better unit than the Lee BB that supports the case better.

Or you could go with a stand alone unit like a Case Pro or the Case Master Junior. There is a Case Pro for sale on the EE right now with 40 and 9mm dies. Expensive but a great unit if you can afford it.

I have the Case Master Junior made by Magma Engineering and it's awesome. I got 9mm, 40 and 45 dies with it. I can pull the Glock bulge out no issues
 
EGW sells an undersized sizing die made by Lee that might size your brass enough to avoid having to use a push-through setup. Using one has cured nosedive misfeeds with my .40 Browning Hi Power.
 
EGW - Evolution Gun Works - also makes "undersized" full-length resizing dies.

These completely remove any bulge.

I find that a bit of case lube is necessary. I use the Dillon spray-on.

Do you do this before or after the round is loaded?
 
I use the Lee carbide pistol dies and haven't had any problems with brass through my Glock 22. Thousands of reloads no problem.
 
i had the Lee bulge buster as soon as it was available from Lee, and it works like a charm. Fast and easy to use. No issue's at all. Great little piece to have for the money. I can't say that about all Lee equipment, but I can for this on!
 
I had some visibly Glocked 40 S&W brass and my regular RCBS carbide die took care of them no problem, I just adjusted the die down to just above the shell holder.

I agree. In fact I use the Bulge Buster for both 40 S&W and 45 ACP. Both work great and reduces ammo induced jams to just about zero. The Redding unit is good but is a lot more money and doesn't do the job any better. One of Lee's better products.
