40 S&W or 45 ACP

i like the M&P platform.
so much so i have one of each 22, 9, 40, 45 and the 9mm PRO CORE.
from what youve listed above i would say go with the 45.

while the 40 is a fun round to shoot i find that its a little too snappy in that light poly gun for me.
the 45 has all metal mags and feels nice shooting with the M&P. keep in mind that 40 mags are half plastic and half metal.
i use the medium backstrap in all my guns except for the 45 i use the small and it feels just like all the others.
also you get the longer barrel and slide with the 45 and front serations (if you press check a lot)

Very little difference between the M&P22 and the 40, and you can fine tunes the grip size with the backstraps. The 40 with the medium backstrap is almost identical in size to the 45 with the small backstrap...so the whole question is basically a non-issue.

I like both the 40 and 45 about equally (and have both). If you can only have one or the other, base your decision on the cost and availability of ammo, magazines and other accessories...

i dont think there is any difference between the 22/9/40 and the 45 other then the top slide.
if im not mistaken the grip and frame are the same size.

M&p 40 I guess...if prefer the .45 in a 1911 or Glock or he or sr45 tho.
You say wimpy 9mm buuuut, cheaper to shoot paper and it's the identical m&p frame size.
I dunno.
Food for thought.
Good luck :)
