Anyone out there loading for a 404 Jeffrey ?
Mine should arrive soon and I'd like to try something other than the listed loads using 3031 or 4064. I'll be using 350 and 400 gr. Hawk and Woodleigh bullets.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

From the A-Square manual, using the 400 gr A-Square bullet:

H-4350...83-86 grs...velocity 2145-2221
IMR 4064...67-80 grs...velocity 2091-2337
RL-15...72-80 grs...velocity 2210-2379

I am envious!

I have been having the same problem. My unique powder has a max load in grains of 6.4. My kit came with dippers measured in cc's. I bought the Lee loading volume, and it says nothing about converting cc's to grains. I have not begun loading until I figure this out. Any help??

Me thinks your post ended up on the wrong thread, but let's start with the basics.

If you purchase the Lee Powder Measure Kit with all the spoons, it has a nifty slide rule type chart that gives the weight equivalents in grains with a list of powders for each spoon. The Lee manual lists their loading data in volume (CC's) as well as grains. You would be better off to buy a scale, any-body's except Lee's that is, your spoons are probably better. Get some loading manuals and you'll be good to go.
