Hey, i was looking to see what guys did use in their setup.
I picked up an STI trojan which will be done up for classic major.
I have all my parts comming in shortly, and will have many different # recoil and mainspring to experiment.
For 175pf loads, i expect to run a 12# recoil and 17# main. I hate recoil masters, and my complete trigger group/assembly will be SVI

What are you guys running? What power factor - trigger components brand - spring #s?
I will experiment for my own like mentionned, but if i get lets say 4-5 replys in a row saying 11# recoil i will give this one extra attention when testing

180pf, 12lb recoil spring and 19lb main spring. gun goes right back to where it started without alot of flip, but I also have a tungsten guide rod in there

Cool thanks for the replies so far.
I reload lot's of 9mm for when I was production and now classic minor, but I haven't got all to load 40 yet. I guess at least primers and VVN320 will remain the same, as for projectiles i'll have to get shopping. If I started typing reloading in a spring thread, it's just I was wondering why you guys are aiming 180PF when major is 170? I would have guessed that 175 would be the sweet spot.
And to get back to springs, maybe with 175PF the 11# could work, I am just saying the idea as I have heard that 11# is a common spring for .40 1911/2011.
As for mainspring I am guessing that my factory one should be setting at 19#? Hard to say info is not readily available and the Trojan did not come with the box goodies as its off the EE

I like a 10pf buffer, account for all the variables being bad (light bullet, slightly lower powder, ect). less worry, and really 5pf doesnt change anything when you are keeping it sub sonic

edit: I do the same buffer for my minor loads

I guess it depends in which firearm.
The CZ shadow i wouldnt notice any difference between 125 and 130
But the STI ranger ll, holy fack theres a difference for some reason
In the CZ 3.4 VVN320 FMJ 147gr 1.155 OAL = 125pf
In the ranger ll 3.8 VVN320 FMJ 147gr 1.145 OAL = 125pf
