.41 ae

You can't, except for the occasional collector. It's not loaded by anybody. Bought 500 empties when I bought the barrel long, long ago. Otherwise, I'd be SOL. Very expensive stuff these days. Over a buck each if you can find any.

OK thanks

Are reloading component availible?? I don't reload but will probly get into it within the next few year. And I have friend who can reload.

Hi. The trick is finding brass. It's not made either. The cartridge uses the same bullets as the .41 Magnum, but doesn't like SWC's or weights over 210 grains. 170's or 200's are normal though. Collector ammo runs around $4US each.
Haven't ever found a reliable source for cast bullets myself, but jacketed bullets are easy enough. Dies are most likely special order now. Mine are RCBS. Bought all that suff when I bought the barrel. Inlgis BHP(you really have to hang on to it when shooting the .41 too. Any looseness in your wrist and it jams.) Regular 9mm Para shellholder. Data is very easy to get, either on-line or in some manuals. I have it anyway.

Don't laugh too hard, but you may have some luck finding brass or ammo in Israel. IMI was loading it.

For bullets, the best bets are e-mailing Mystic Precision and seeing about getting the Sierra 170gr JHP's, or getting the Saeco molds

The 170 truncated cone bullet of theirs was designed for the .41ae.

I haven't seen much .41AE shooting ammo in the States over the past few years, but I have seen a few boxes of .41AE proof ammo. If you can hook into any of that you will at least have some components to start with.

"...IMI was loading it..." Yep, but not for a very long time. They were asked about it, a few years back(discussed, at length, on their web forum) and they said they'd do another run if somebody ordered a million rounds and paid up front. Otherwise, go away and stop bothering us. We're busy with military orders.
"...For bullets..." Jacketed bullets are relatively easy. Cast are impossible unless you make 'em. Most .41 Mag cast are SWC's. The AE doesn't feed 'em well.
"....41AE proof ammo..." Very high priced collector grade stuff.
"...haven't seen much .41AE shooting ammo in the States..." Not made by anybody. The .40 S&W killed it.

I've seen the proof ammo fairly cheaply, as I recall, due to the simple fact that it is completely worthless to most everyone. Few collectors want the boxes, and most who want an example of the round have one.

"...Few collectors want the boxes..." Full unopened boxes of anything command a premium.
"...proof ammo fairly cheaply..." $4 USD each on one site. I suspect it's not really proof cartridges either. Proofing isn't done by anybody but the factory.
