41 Magnum

I see S&W no longer produces a revolver in this caliber, so for a DA stainless model am I just left with Taurus? Any opinions of the Raging Bull?

S&W released a Model 657. Are these a collector's item now or can I find them at "working gun" prices?

I think the Model 57 was a very fine gun. I don't think I'd ever consider selling mine.

The do come up ocassionally on the EE.

Hope to get one or a few myself. Always crummy timing when they do come up.

I have two (4"' blued and a 3" stainless snubby), plus a Ruger in the same caliber. I am a 41 fan, I'm afraid. - dan

I love the .41 Magnum! It is a fairly rare beastie here in Canada and even in the US it has a small but die hard following. Most guys with a .41 would be hard pressed to part with them - myself included! Keep an eye on the EE as you might find one there on occasion. Ruger still offers the New Model Blackhawk in .41 if you can live with the single-action. I've never handled a Taurus but by reputation they are good guns but maybe not as nice as the S&W's. It is a round for reloaders as factory ammo is pricey and hard to find. Here's my S&W 57 and Marlin 1894 both in .41 Mag.
