41 rem mag.

Excellent cartridge. I have a Ruger Blackhawk 6.5 barrel. Just wish I could find a Marlin in 41. I shot mostly cast in mine. Factory ammunition is hard to find so mostly a reload proposition. Only handguns I can think of currently offered is the Smith and Wesson and the Ruger. Current moulds available are few but can be ordered.

I killed two Javelina in Arizona with the .41 mag, the first in a Ruger Blackhawk at about 20 yd, the second with a Marlin lever action at about 100 yd, it performed just fine.

I have a Bisley Blackhawk and a TC Contender barrel in .41 mag.

I've always been a little surprised how available brass is. When I first got the Bisley I prepared myself for a hunt for components, but lo and behold the first two stores I walked into had brass on the shelves. Jacketed bullets are maybe a little harder to find, but I had no problem building up a good supply. Clearly there's a few of us shooting it.

A few S&W 57's,657's & Marlin 1894 for the bore correct 41 Rem mag in use for decades.

As mentioned jacketed projectiles are limited for 410" bores.

I've cast/shot 180's,220's & 250's for the above revolvers/rifle for several decades.

I've got a Super Blackhawk Hunter 7.5" w/ 2x Leupold on it...I wish I could hunt with it...

As it is, tons of fun at the range, and people love shooting it.

The 41 mag is one of those calibres that just refuses to die. A little more manageable than a 44mag but still a big step up from a 357. it has a small but dedicated following, especially in the US. I got a Super Blackhawk from a friend whose father-in-law had owned it. He's a rifle guy with no interest in handguns so basically gave it to me. It was in pristine condition (didn't even have a drag line) and the cylinder gap was something like 2 thou.
