I am hopefully in the process of buying an old swiss vetterli and would like to source some brass or ammo - 41 swiss rimfire - anyone have any tips or advice? Thanks as always!

Wasn't there a way to convert these to centre fire and form brass from cut down (if memory serves me) 8mm Lebel cases? Not sure you want to try that with a collector piece though. I have most of one in the closet, minus much of the internals. Definitely an interesting old gun.

It is easy enough to pick up a bubba'd specimen, and alter the bolt to centerfire.
Bolt must be drilled for a centerfire firing pin, and the pin and pin carrier made.
Lee makes the dies. Cases can be easily formed from .348 Winchester brass.
.348 brass can be used to form 8mm Lebel brass, too.

They're quite easy to convert to center fire, and brass can be readily made from 8mm Lebel or 348 Winchester. The Lebel brass usually extracts a bit better, the rim on the 348 is a bit small. Lee sells the reloading dies.
These old beauties can be made to shoot very accurately.
