Wondering if anyone has put together some 000 buckshot loads for the 410 with H110, and if they'd be willing to share.

I have 2.5" Fiocchi hulls and 3" Cheddite hulls, Cheddite 209 primers, pounds of H110, a box of 000 buckshot, and a number of different wads but the BPI small bore manual I have doesn't list a 000 buckshot load with H110 and I don't think my Lyman shotshell manual does either. I have no practical application or need for a 410 buckshot load but thought it might be fun to load and shoot some anyway as I have components, just no recipes with H110 but I can't see why it wouldn't work?

I have a video coming out soon.
But I am using 15 grains of 296(same as H110), pre primed Servicios hulls (cheddite I think), some thin cork filler cards, claybuster wad and 3 home cast 000 buck. All is roll crimped

Thanks, do you post your videos to Youtube, or elsewhere? Definitely interested in giving it a watch when you get it posted.

I have overshot and nitro cards, I'd think they'll work in place of the cork, also picking up a roll crimper in a couple days as well.

Also, are you keeping your wads full length or trimming the fingers down? I have those same wads, also some BPI BX 410's, MG 410's, SG 410's, and Stretch wads. I thought the BX 410's might be decent for this application as a basic cushion potentially, but if you're having success with the Claybuster wad then perhaps I'll start there.

My channel is in my signature.

I was actually planning on doing the video this weekend, so your post is very timely.

The cork is mainly used to seal the powder and to get the stack height to where it needs to be

^Not sure if it's a setting or something but I don't see a signature. I subscribed so it's not so much of an issue for me but yeah.

I had the thought of a custom mold that casts in the shape that the buck seems to take when fired anyway, a sort of concave cylinder. Lost interest along the way though.

I'm not seeing a signature either. I clicked on the profile as well but I'm not seeing anything there either.

Good watch, thanks for posting. I'm a bit disappointed that the roll crimp I ordered is a 12 guage one so I won't be loading any 410 buckshot rounds until I get the proper roll crimp ordered up I don't think.

Have you fired these yet? Curious to see what you got for accuracy.

The original ones, I had all three pellets hit a beer can at 30 feet, not very scientific, but I am hopeful these will do better

That's pretty good, even better if these new ones outperform your old loads. I'm looking forward to playing around and seeing what I can come up with myself. I do love how little powder and shot you have to use loading for the 410, it makes reloading quite a bit more economical(at least when you can find hulls, lol).

Well, I tried two different loads today, just a single round each as the range trip was really more about patterning bird shot. Both using new Fiocchi 2.5" hulls with Fiocchi primers and 15 grains of H110 with a fold crimp as I currently don't have a roll crimper. 1st load had two .070" nitro cards on top of the powder, then a claybuster wad with 3 000 buckshot pellets topped with a single overshot card. At 25 yards all 3 pellets hit pretty much right at POA elevation but strung almost perfectly horizontally to the left from almost center with roughly a 14" spread between the two pellets furthest apart....had that been vertical stringing I'd have been quite pleased but that is clearly no good.

The second load I used BX410 wad with 3 pellets of 000 and just a fold crimp with no overshot card. This one performed much worse, I couldn't even see any impacts on the target board, no idea what happened with that load. Looks like I still have quite a bit if work to do here. Both shot through my Rossi Tuffy with fixed modified choke, I wasn't sure how the full choke in my TPS M6 would like the 000 pellets with the wad, it'd probably be fine though, perhaps next time I'll load a few more and test through both guns.

I find you can pre-warm the roll crimper with a blow dryer to save time ,skive the inside of new hulls[cone dremmel bit works] and seal top wad with white Elmer's glue to water proof . Good video. PS Budget has those hulls.
