410 and 45LC

There is plenty of video out there of people shooting all sorts of junk up to and including ,454/.460 from cheap .410 singles. Since there is no rifling or proper chamber their is no chance of anything near peak pressure. You won't catch me doing it though.

Ive never really understood the need to Fuxk with things that will inevitably go VERY wrong. Want to shoot 45 Colt (NOT LC) then buy the proper firearm for it. If you decide too do stupid things, please video. It makes great entertainment!!

Had a couple Bond arms 4.25" derringers, one was 410 3" /45lc, But being a old ,but wimpy guy I never shot 3" hv or hot 45 out of them.
Cheap shorter 410 was not bad and cowboy 45 was fine. Friend of mine way younger shot 2 rds of 3" imperials slugs I had been hording.
2 was all he wanted to do. I never measured the bore, but you had 3 +in of chamber and 1 in of rifling, which did not much for the 45 and buggered the smooth bore 410 idea. But who cared.:sneaky:

You could keep these on the paper at 10 yrs, if you got use to the trigger, they where a ##### to figure out the way the trigger pivoted down
on the pull. If you took off the trigger guard strap, they worked good, for what they where made for ( car jackers at 2ft)
I also had one in 38/357, nice caliber , but I sold it before I got a chance to try it. they also have a 9mm barrel, and a 22, but too much$ for a 22

There was no end goal.
Just a random thought while staring at an older single shot 410 with a long barrel..thought of cutting it down to 20" to eliminate the choke and trying a 45LC.

No intended use, no specific goal.

Just random gun thoughts while puttering around the shop.

Thought it was worth posting to stimulate conversation that doesn't turn into a schit show of insults, politics, covid, peoples pronouns, etc
Stimulate conversation indeed.
