.410 bird gun

ha ha ha,......maybe i should made this a poll..whats the better bush chicken gun?

but then again,only a lousy shot need,s something bigger then a 410:p

Now I understand:D You want a gun to shoot fool hens while they are sitting on the road;) In that case, only a lousy shot needs anything other than a .22:yingyang: If you are actually talking about taking birds in flight, good shot or #### shot, anything is better than a .410. If your talking all purpose TRUCK gun you will want it to be capable of defence against ZOMBIE attack! eh?

ok you talked me into getting a sling shot:D

I find the .410 strings it's shot column unless your using 7 1/2 shot.Worse with 3" mags.Even for shooting chickens in the ditch many are hit and fly off.The only exceptions I've seen are my over choked Sav 24 .22/.410 and the SS Baikal that throw baseball sized patterns at 50 ft.I like a 20ga or my Wiehrauch 80K/.22 air rifle[800 fps] for meat hunting...............Harold

I use a model 84 cooey in 12 guage. Get the cheap shot ya get from the wal-mart in #5 or #6 and your set.:) Reason for the 12 and cheap shot is that its just fun and cheap to practice with. The heavy shot like #5 can wade through the brush when they are on the run. Yes a 12 is to heavy but only when you DONT take the head shots. If you cant get a head shot then let the little birdie fly away. Better to fly away than to laugh at a bird that you just turnned into hamburger.

And if your a new shooter you can hone your shooting skills for cheap!!:D

But of course thats my opinion.

If you really do want a 410 for truck use, some suggestions:
1. IGA / Boito, etc. backpacker. Short, maybe $150 used. Accuracy not all that great but it's a fun gun. Get a holster made for it and wow your friends as they claim its too short and illegal. (Its not)
2. Mossberg bolt actions: Lots of 'em available @ $100 or so. Get one with the adjustable choke. Decent accuracy.
3. NEF Survivor (??) in 410/45 Colt. Plastic and nickle plated so its ideal for tossing in the truck. 410 for grouse 45 Colt for Zombies.
I've got all of 'em and figure the NEF will go nice strapped to the roll bar of my Samurai.

im not sure of the name...but i saw one once at the wolfsden archery club just south of barrie..it was a neat little short 410..
all i remember of it ..it was short and you had to pull the trigger guard to break open the action...
does that sound like any of the ones you own?
