I purchased at Boito Hiker for shooting partridge. I really liked it cause it had such a short barrel.

Can someone tell me what a good shot size is. I have some #4 and it's ok but was wondering what others are hunting with for this gun

You can use 444 marlin brass to make shells. They look very cool and if you use hotmelt glue you can seal the overshot card to make them almost water proof.

I use # 8 to get more pellets but I agree with the others # 6 is good.

# 4 would be pretty scattered and thin pattern IMO

Winchester Super-X High Brass #4's out of a full choke barrel are pretty hard to beat for Grouse and Rabbit's. If your hunting birds on the ground your good for 20-30 yards easy. Killing them in the air tends to be pretty tricky with a .410 no matter what shot I have tried. I can smash clay pigeons with ease with my .410 but usually hesitate to take a Grouse out of the air:redface:.
