Thinking about purchasing a .410 for cottontail hunting.

What gun would you recommend as being the absolute most reliable in .410?

Open to autoloaders, pumps and doubles.

Thinking of a Remington 1100 but am unsure if they cycle with perfection in .410? Anybody own a .410 auto?

The browning BPS in .410 is a little more expensive, but it comes with 3 chokes for increased versatility whereas a lot of other .410's like the nef single and mossberg pump only have a fixed full. Also the BPS ejects shells downwards so if youre left handed itd be great and the action is smooth along with beautiful fit and finish.

Boring

I know my choice is so boring but it worked for me for years, Baikal single shot. The dam thing is so light you almost forget your carrying it. Next choice would be a SXS coach gun like my 20 gauge, nice and light and really fast.

I use the American Sweetheart. The Winchester pre-64 Model 42. I have two and both are pre-war. Try one if you can, they're hard to beat. Expensive but not impossiblt to find.
