410 rifled choke

As of now i do not have the gun. I was looking at either and hnr or a new stevens 301

There was a company in the states i believe hastings had something to do with it and they were getting ubsurd velocity from heavy weight bullets in a rifled 410 barrel but they are now out of business. I just want normal slug velocities im not looking to turn it into a big bore rifle.

My mind needs to be kept busy or i get into trouble

These are the guys you were thinking of I am sure.

They made barrels that were essentially rifle barrels to take "shotgun" hulls.

I was hoping to get somewhere close to 1200fps with a 1/2oz slug, essentially the same as a 1/2oz shot load in a wad, although I never could figure out if that would be safe.

A 220gr soft lead bullet at 1200fps, essentially a 44-40, right around 700 ft lbs of energy at the muzzle.

Thats exactly the idea i want but in a simple light weight break action shotgun.
Figured i coukd have a custom mould made up or use 41 mag pistol bullets if i got the rifling part figured out

A sxs 12ga with a savage 410er tube in one barrel and #4 buck in the other got me close to what i wanted but i was 6" groups at 50 yards. Thats not quite good enough for me. Poi also shifted with taking the tube in and out and i didnt want to tie up a sxs to leave the tube in
