.416 bullets

Does anyone have a line on .416" jacketed rifle bullets in the 300-400 grain range that would be suitable for use in a lever gun? I have developed a wildcat based on the .45-70 necked down to .416 and was using some of the Hornady round nose interbonds but they have been discontinued.

I spoke with Hawke in the US who provided the response of "Good Luck, we are on backorder for a year". At this stage I am also considering cast.

Thanks for any info.

Just looked, the tip on the .416 400gr Aframe is fairly flat but a smaller diameter than a LR primer... I'd say that's a no go for a lever gun...

I'd start looking for a FN 350gr mold... Then you can sell me a couple hundred for plinking with my rigby!
