Bushnell 4200 VS Leupold Rifleman, both in 3-9x40

There a couple of each in the EE.

I'm leaning towards the 4200 rather than get seduced by the Leupold name.

Prices are within $75 of each other.

Do you think I am making the right choice

4200 will be brighter but be aware it has less eye relief. There is a reason Bushnell scopes have a rubber ring on the eyepiece of the scope.

I got the american rifleman for the drop reticle. The turrets are trash. Luckily the first dot is 200y so it'll be great deer hunting.

Not sure why a 4200 wouldn’t be supported. I sent in a 4000 B&L recently and received a new Bushnell in return.

4200's have wonderful clarity.
I wasn't aware that Bushnell doesn't support them?
For some reason I think this model is?

I have one on a hunting rifle and whilst I detest Bushnell, I support the ideology that iff'in it ain't broke, leaf it alone.

Another vote for the 4200

I have a 2.5-10x40 that has sat on a number of rifles, the last being a 300WSM. Tough, durable, consistent tracking and clear.

At just over the 1lb mark alone, it’s sitting patiently waiting for my next LW build of some sort to be snuggled in some LW Talleys.

What I was referring to is the 4200 will not be repaired, only replaced. I sent one in for warranty only to be told they don't repair them anymore.
Received a Nitro in its place.

Rifleman uses 1/2” clicks and I have no time for that. 4200 All the way and I’m a Leupold guy

Bushnell 4200, I have three of these & have no complaints.

Another vote for 4200 tracking is spot on clarity and light transmission is on par with scope twice it's price held zero perfect (one time rifle dropped from treestand never lost zero) still has 3 on different rifles.

I didn't think so at first as I was disappointed the 4200 wasn't repaired, but using the Nitro on everything from 223 to 338 WM, it's a decent scope.

How is the tracking with the Nitro? Is it a set it and leave it scope, or can it be dialled?

I have a 4200 that just shiddabed, not tracking worth a hit. was fine while not touched on one rimfire rifle, put to use on a 223 and cannot get a good zero to hold
of course in the que for a callback...........someday sometime

For sure the 4200, the rifleman is an ok scope, but I really like the 4200 and even the 3200 series!
