.43 Spanish, anyone .... ?

I tried paper patching, but had no luck whatsoever, in getting the patched bullet into a case.

Just ordered another 20 Bertram .43 Spanish cases from "Shooter's Choice" in Ontario. They had 40. Why didn't I buy them all?

Their web site said $78.95 for 20. Out of date. The current price was $99.95!!! These cases will be annealed and treasured, along with those I currently have.

Gotta love shooting the obsolete odd ball calibres to do this. Haven't told my wife yet, but she's a fabriholic of the first order as a devoted quilter. She spends hundreds of dollars per quilt. She'll understand another addict, I'm sure ...... I hope ..... ;>)

One thing that has always had me stumped is the reason why 43 mauser is made with the raised boss on the cartridge base. I'm sure it has a reason, but I'll be darned if I know why :p

The extractor rides nicely over the base when the bolt is closed. There were likely few case standards in 71/84 when Mauser was developing his guns that had to perform flawlessly during military trials.
