.43cal Eygptian........??

It is in the same power/knockdown range as .43 Mauser and .43 Spanish (big game at short range) and just as easy (ie. really easy) to find or make brass and load for. Bullet is .448"
Please, unless it needs a complete re-build, find some other gun rather than re-chamber one.

PS...Bertram makes the brass and yes, I own one, I just haven't had time to load and shoot it properly yet

Rolling block egyptian

Very funny to use and i shoot a Bull in the past to make some meat ....at my farm and in the midle of the head , he fall without trouble......

If I remember correctly while the 43 spanish and 43 mauser were quite similar, the 43 egyptian was a little shorter.
Hopefully this'll help:
First is the 43 egyptian:

And second is the 43 mauser for comparison:

Yes, you're right Wally.

Case capacity (grs water) for
11.43x50R Egyptian Rem. is 80.75.
11.15x60R Mauser is 93.61.
11.15x58R Spanish is 89.72. (source Donnelly & Donnelly fourth edition)

Just for comparison to a more familiar round,
45-70 Gov is 75.51grs and 50-70 Gov is 76.77grs

Any way you look at it though, you have a big heavy bullet travelling at lethal speed to make short work of most large game. More importantly (IMHO) the .43 egyptian is easy to load, gives a big boom and a cloud of smoke and is a great deal of fun to shoot.
