44-40 revolver

I don't think any loading manual, old or new, will show any loadings for a rifle, other than those designed for a revolver, in good condition. Too much danger of someone loading the heavy loads in a revolver.
Not the 44-40, but Lee reloading manual 2nd edition actually have 3 different 45-70 load data depending on what you're shooting it out of. Dangerous, I know.

I came across a used Uberti 1873 Cattleman in 44-40 with a 5.5 inch barrel, don't know if the dealer still has it but you could try: williamsarms.com
Click on Used guns and scroll down to Uberti there are a couple of pictures of it.
I have two Uberti 1873's and aside from broken trigger/bolt springs they have been great, you can get Wolf springs for them now and most of the new guns have them installed at the factory.
