most semis are 4 shot? and laws in canada confuse me. shotgun no more than 3, rimfire rifle can have a 50 shot clip.
so i asked a question. and sometime i get an answer

semi auto center fire mag limit is 5 rounds (8 rounds for M1 Garand), 10 rounds for most handgun mags

No limit for the other mecanism and semi-auto rimfire


The 3 rounds limit is for hunting waterfowl. Some provincial regs state a 5 rounds limit for hunting big and small game with semi-auto (like in QC)

Have you ever shot .44Mag out of a rifle? Just asking because it can be a bit subjective but I have a Henry Big Boy in 44 - it's an 8.5lb rifle unloaded - and I wouldn't exactly characterize the recoil as "mild". The 44 may not have the intensity/muzzle velocity of the mid power 30 cals but that heavy bullet makes itself felt as it's leaving the barrel. Probably just as easy for beginner to shoot a 30/30 or a 7.62x39.

The recoil generated by a .30-30 in a 7,5lb rifle is more than that of a .44 mag in an 8.5 rifle. Even with heavy cast LBT's a .44 mag is comparatively mild.

According to Chuck Hawks in guns of equal weight (7.5lbs) a .44 mag will kick 1ft/lb harder. Loads compared were 150 grain at 2400ft/s and 240 grain at 1800ft/s.
