.44 Mag Marlin cycling problem

My .44 Mag Marlin '94 won't cycle properly. I lever a cartridge but it misses the chamber. I pull the lever back a bit and try again, it goes right in. This happens 3 or 4 time out of 5 shots. I use only lead bullets and I've tried SWC, RN, FP. I want to use this rifle in cowboy shooting so fast & reliable cycling is a must. Help!
 
WOW! I can't believe such a common problem could exist so long without Marlin fixing it. I don't know if that is my problem. Mine worked that way from the very first shot so it can't be a wear problem. I called Marlin and they told me to take it to an authorized gunsmith for warranty repair. They gave me the name "Ultimate Accuracy on Karlovac Ave., St. Andrews NB. The business is owned by Lyle Linkaitis. This was great news as it isn't far from my home. I can't find any such business or street. Has anyone heard of this business or individual?
 
I called Marlin again. They never heard of the business they referred me to in St. Andrews. Now they want me to send the rifle to WR Long in Coburg. I loaded up some dummy rounds to run through the action to try and determine exactly what the problem is. They run through the action smooth as butter every time. I put in 5 loaded rounds and not one would cycle properley. When I lever the cartridge it comes back from the magazine but doesn't lift to line up with the chamber, it just moves ahead and hits below the chamber. I pull the lever back again and the ramp lifts the cartridge in line with the chamber and slides right in when I pull the lever back. This happens every time now with loaded ammo. Time after time the dummy rounds work like a charm. Same bullets, same cases ,same press. I measured the dummy & live rounds and can't find any difference. The only difference is the dummy rounds have no powder or primers. Any suggestions? It seems like there must be some simple solution I'm overlooking.
