i have a 44 desert eagle and i reload all my shells.i am having trouble with brass hitting me in the face and im not sure if its not enough powder or something else...gun is clean and i have been loading for years will powder loose power

If it's loaded or kept in a cool dry area, powder should be fine. From what I've read, there are a few things that could cause this problem.

1. Loads aren't "hot" enough
2. Limp wristing after heavy recoil
3. Worn or damaged ejector or ejector spring

Not saying it's limited to just those issues.

You can try on the Reloading page where folks there might have more experience loading for the DE. Tell them what load you are using, it could be a quick fix.

OP - what load are you using? DE usually wants close to or at max load to move all that heavy metal around. Light loads end up causing a bunch of different things. Limp wrist also very good possibility. Are you shooting RH or LH?

I use factory ammo in mind and have seen it happen to lots of people that ask to shoot it. Happened to me a few times as well. I'd say because of the size of the grip most people can't hold it as tight as is needs to be held.

lock your elbows/wrist and hold it firmly in your hands. never had brass hitting me in the face. or anywhere ;) its ejecting properly

My 44 not a single jam in my hands even when it was brand new with PMC / sellier and bellot 240 grs.
Then one day i let my brother shoot it and he had a 2 jams. 73 / 75 feeded correctly. 2 jams in HIS hands.
Was your gun working properly with commercial ammo?

what size of bullet? i have had troubles with 180g bullets even at maximum load. are you also using magnum primers?

Have a DE with both 44 Mag and 50AE barrels. The only time me or my friends have taken a case to the forehead is when one doesn't pay attention to their grip.

I've run 180gr factory with no problems, but my main round is 240gr reloads (near max 110 & 4227). I've found that if it's cycling, you have enough powder. It may be the ejector or spring, but my money's on your grip.

(E)

It's been a long time since I had a DE and it brings back some fond memories - I do remember is that it was really fussy over my reloads. It liked hot loads. It is unforgiving with soft grip/limp wristed shooters - There is significant recoil to control. Once I got the loads sorted it worked very well and the flame that came out of the muzzle was awesome.
