Looking for a 44 magnum handgun.. that give me the option to switch between magnum and special..
any kind (most probably revolver over pistol).. my search pointed at a few..

What is the big difference (reliability, quality, availability, price, other thing that i should know..)
between a Smith & Wesson 629 and a colt anaconda

Do you mean having a revolver in 44 magnum and shoot it with 44 special ? not sure that you can shoot 44 special in a 44 magnum.....

to be franc.. i reload both.. mag and special inside magnum brass.. my "special" is a magnum brass with less gr. and different powder.. i decided to only process 1 type of brass.. all the same length

I've got a Taurus Raging Bull in 44mag, I love it, quality is great, so is accuracy and an affordable price as well. My only complaint is it is a bit of a pain to clean the lead out of the porting in the barrel. Oh and did I mention Taurus has a lifetime warranty.

Since you will end up reloading your own ammo for .44Mag it's the most simple thing in the world to load DOWN to whatever recoil level you like. You can load up anything from the softest recoil shy newbie friendly rounds on up to the full pressure SAMMI spec "wrist wreckers" and anything in between. So there's simply no point in worrying over .44Spl. ESPECIALLY since if you find .44Spl it's likely to cost as much or more than .44Mag in factory loads.

The reason I say you'll end up reloading is the cost. Factory .44Mag is up near a buck a round. Yet I can reload full power H110 and 2400 loads for about 28 cents a pop and stout but reduced loads that would be equivalent to .44Spl +P, if there were such a thing, for about 25 cents a round. Considering the savings that's a big difference. Then when you add on the ability to totally control your load power it's a slam dunk decision for just about everyone to reload their own.

As far as the guns go you DO realize that Colt hasn't made any Anacondas in many a year, right? That means you're buying used. But you're also buying "collectable" as well. And that pushes the price of the Colts up into the stratosphere compared to the rest.

S&W make a nice revolver as does Ruger. Ruger also gives you the choice of double or single action models with the Super Blackhawk SA revolver being a price point leader in the .44Mag clan. Taurus SHOULD be somewhat better now that it was in years gone by since Freedom Ventures took over distribution and warranty from the previous losers. But a somewhat higher percentage of Taurus guns seem to come with warranty issues. But I understand that if you get a good one or once any bugs are worked out that they are not a bad option.

Oddly enough the longer barrel doesn't make the gun more accurate other than it provides you with a longer sight baseline to work with. The only thing you get that is truly gun related from the longer barrel is a little more velocity.

Ruger and S&W both have their fan base. Having had both I tend towards S&W other than the Ruger Blackhawk simply because S&W doesn't make a SA/loading gate style "cowboy" revolver.

The Ruger is stronger and more tolerant of full power and even "Ruger only" loads though. So recoil junkies are wise to stick with the Ruger lineup.

The S&W seem just right.. and didnt knew the anaconda was out of production... thx!

Out of curiosity.. Is there a pistol that shoot 44 mag beside the Desert Eagle.. ?

No, you don't want a .44 Magnum; that's crazy talk.

You mean not a revolver? Not a lot comes to mind. You can get a barrel for a Thompson Contender in .44Mag. And if you've got the big mean hand-gun round already, might as well get a lever gun in it, too (regular or mare's leg length).

Two things. While it is correct that a 4.2 inch barrel is just as accurate as a longer barrel it is far easier to shoot a longer barrel accurately. One more thing that the longer barrel does , it reduce muzel blast and felt recoil which is considerable when you are shooting full house factory loads.
