44 Magnum input

This is my S&W 629 w/5". Great shooter. If you are in the Hamilton area, I would be happy to let you test pilot...

I'm with Boomer on the long barrel suggestion. Unless you are carrying the gun for wilderness use bigger is better!
My favorite SuperBlackhawk is the Hunter model. The Hunter has the bigger longer grip of the Dragoon models but comes with a round trigger guard.
You can also get the Bisley Hunter if you prefer that style of grip.
The Hunter comes with good open sights and also Ruger rings for mounting optics. The mounts are machined into the rib on the barrel.

I dont believe in handguns with scopes, looks wrong to me lol.

I agree, plus I find them harder to shoot.....red dots are a bit better.
The only real use is for longer range hunting which we can't do in Canada and load development off a good rest.
The cool thing is you don't actually have to use the mounts all the time! Nice to have options eh.

Im such a poor shot maybe i could benefit from it lol.

I've run handgun scopes on my Dan Wesson 44 and various TC's, I never found them that helpful. Now that my eyes are a lot weaker then they used to be, maybe I'll give them another whirl. The one thing you will notice, is how pitiful your best handgun hold really is. A scope really, really underscores how "wiggly" your hold is. As to the 44 argument, try as many as you can. Grip shape and gun weight will make more of a difference to your enjoyment of the caliber then the brand of the revolver or semi auto. - dan

Since we can't hunt with them....I get the shortest barrel length (just legal) to tick off the antis. But the long barrels do look just as bad A$$ (minus the scopes/RDs). These devices belong on rifles! IMO:)
If only I could have one 12(6)....this would be the one(also avail in 44mag IIRC)

Not in Canada but you CAN certainly go handgun hunting, if you so wish.

Yes. I've talked to a couple of guys who have actually done it.

It's a ton of paperwork, but it is possible to bring your handgun to USA and hunt with it. For some enthusiasts, it is well worth the trouble.

I have a 7.5" super blackhawk and a 7.5" super redhawk. Love them both for different reasons but for pure paper punching the super black hawk is about perfect. I find being a bit slower to load makes you focus more on the shooting technique. Both are great choices and you will not be dissapointed either way. 44mag is one of my personal favorites. :D
