44 magnum rifles

cool. I've been really wanting a 99/44 Deerfield with the rotary mag. Can't find one anywhere. One may have popped up a quite a while back, but the price was sooooo high, that I couldn't afford it. I hope the rumor of Ruger making them again comes true. I have a real beauty blued 77/44 in Walnut, real nice and hardly fired and a custom 96/44 lever action with a stainless heavy barrel. I would consider working out a trade deal with either one for a nice Deerfield.

Keep an eye on the Epps website.
Saw 2 Ruger semi-auto 44 Mags go by my computer monitor on that site this year along with a lot of other interesting stuff.

If you have the bolt and lever, then you need the semi to complete the Ruger set... if you trade either of your current guns, you will regret it and end up shopping again...

Hoyt's right. If you have the bolt and the lever, you have to get the semi (or two) And maybe a Winchester pack carbine and a Redhawk, just in case

I have a new Chiappa .44 that I bought last year. I haven't used it yet. I'd better get my butt in gear. I also have a Rossi .357. Something about lever guns.....

I don't have a .44 mag YET but I do love my .45 Colt and plan for a rifle in .44 next.

Likewise I don't love mine yet, but I expect to love it when I get one. It'll probably be a Handi-Rifle because I already like them and they aren't expensive but it might be a Marlin 1894 because I've never had a lever action.

Im thinking of taking the scope off my 77/44 and replacing it with a ghost ring. I dont like Ruger factory irons. I think the rifle carries better without the scope.

I agree the rifle carries better without the scope. I've had great success with a Skinner barrel-mount ghost ring on mine. It was easy to install, works with the factory front sight and is more accurate and easier to acquire than the factory rear sight.

Ive actually been thinking about one of these. Did you order directly from skinner? Do you recall the approximate delivery time?

Chiappa Trapper Skinner in .44 mag. Has saddle ring. I carry it on a single point sling by the saddle ring behind me which leaves both hands free while mushroom picking, fishing etc. but still at hand in case of a bear issue. Beautiful gun, slick action. Love it.
