I's because I wanted you to correct meYou did your division backwards. $205/300 rounds is $0.68/1 round.

Only just recently got my pal and the ammo prices in comparison to those in the states is mind boggling.I remember when I bought my Henry 44 lever last year and had to start dumping money into ammo, I did a double take at some of the prices per box of 50. Now I was coming from shooting PCC where 9mm is fairly affordable (relatively speaking) at $22 a box or whatever it was. I picked up my Magtech 44 Rem Mag JSP rounds - box of 50 was around $47.00.
I was at two local gun stores yesterday and today picking up new guns when I decided to peruse the ammo section. I almost fell over in disbelief.
I saw boxes of target rounds of Winchester white box 44 Magnum JSP rounds (50 per box) going for $92.00 a box + tax. And that's at Tenda. And that's Winchester white box, hardly high end ammo.
Going online at some of the gun stores across Canada, a box of 50 rounds of Winchester white box was going for anywhere between $105 to $120. A google search or going through arsenalforce can reveal this.
Did I miss something between last year and this year with the 44 Rem Mag arounds? Seems like 9mm ammo and 38 special and such have kept fairly steady. And the 40S&W which no one buys is still the same price as last year. Anyone know why such a precipitous increase in 44 Mag when all other pistol calibers have more or less held steady?
$0.70/round when buying in bulk. $0.60 for 38spl.What's a good price for .357 magnum these days?
nothing like whats coming when the turds tariff's kick inOnly just recently got my pal and the ammo prices in comparison to those in the states is mind boggling.
I'm in the same boat, shooting 9mm PCC at $0.35 a round and like you I'm buying a Henry 44 mag and ya bullet prices are not like 9mm ones... G4C has definitely the best pricing, about $1.16 right now for PMC Bronze is what I think is the best deal around. There's the Selliers too like recommended earlier... Anyways, I'm getting into reloading because I need another hobby in my life but also if I can save money well that's good too. I figured under $0.70 a round. Not huge savings but I'm looking forward to learn something new so it is what it is. Just so you know the Magtechs are great hunting ammo. They are white boxed Winchesters.I remember when I bought my Henry 44 lever last year and had to start dumping money into ammo, I did a double take at some of the prices per box of 50. Pretty sure Magtech is made in Brazil by CBC (parent company same as S&B). I thought Winchesters were made in the US?Just so you know the Magtechs are great hunting ammo. They are white boxed Winchesters.
Identical bullet just rebranded.
I've used both for years for my 44. Drops them dead.
Bears, deer, no problem. If your rifle shoots them decent they are great ammo.
Just remember that 44 mag is not a long range round. I keep my shots under 150yds and under a 100yds on windy days.
That flat nosed ammo is very affected by wind
Not anymore Magtech dropped S&B and now uses the Winchester process for the bulk of their ammo now.Pretty sure Magtech is made in Brazil by CBC (parent company same as S&B). I thought Winchesters were made in the US?
You sure about this? Not anymore Magtech dropped S&B and now uses the Winchester process for the bulk of their ammo now.
Herters is the same.
Look at them side by side and shoot them in the 100s like I have. Same groups, same bullet, same case, same dead deer, etc.You sure about this?

It says right there on the Magtech site that Magtech is all made in Brazil. And they are still part of the same family at S&B.
Winchester on the other hand is all made in the US.

Hell no! I have a place but selfishly not sharing as the prices are usually the lowest in Canada.Do we have a thread where we can let reloaders know when a sale is on? Should have for sure... or is that Darwining ourselves![]()
Tell them to order 3 times as much and let us know when it arrives! If they order by the container load, better price!Hell no! I have a place but selfishly not sharing as the prices are usually the lowest in Canada.
LOL oh they already do! However, after helping others out before/during the shortage only to see them buy everything up and post it on gp for 3 x the price, I no longer make recommendationsTell them to order 3 times as much and let us know when it arrives!
