Well...440 lbs is HUGE, but definitely achievable for a whitetail (live weight).
Our local Big Buck (by weight) competition winners routinely push 280-290 lbs FD.

World record for the heaviest whitetail is reported to be a Minnesota buck shot in 1926, and weighed
by State game officials....402 lbs field dressed....est. live weight 511 lbs

The angle of the photo make the rack look WAY out of proportion though.
I'll wait for more info before declaring BS. ;)

I think the buck, neck rolls and all is real though overestimated as to it's live weight. My guess would be closer to 325 lbs. Buddy really doesn't look like he belongs in the picture, looks too far back behind the deer based on the sizing of his melon, his hands and the length of his arms though he may have baboon in his family somewhere.

Deer= real, poser=dreamer.

What did they do, keep that Porker in a barn for 3 years and force feed it Purina. Definately would qualify as the most out of shape deer I've ever seen, it would have a heart attack the first time it ran from a wolf or coyote.

I am on the fence for this one

It shows all the signs of a photo-shop job, especially where the antlers meet the head, but the proportion look possible.

Maybe just a fat dear. Maybe it was born with hormone issues or a disposition to retain more fat than the average deer. Genetics can do strange things sometimes.

If there is a shadow from the antler on the tree, then why is there no shadow from the nose of the deer?

The pixels in the head is the guy are at a different density than the rest of the image.

Don't thinks achievable naturally but, with a little help form modern science, and a unlimited supply of food it's do-able. Look at some of the demensions of humans waddleing around.

Just think of all that crap yanks feed deer down south, ever see some of those racks. As for the size it came from a high fence farm(aka fat farm)probably never walked more than 20 feet to eat.

10 grand to walk up to the fence and shoot a deer, now that's hunting:rolleyes:

I seen that deer in the bush, it's real. I decided to let it walk in hopes of it filling out the next year.

Here is a picture of a 461 lb deer shot in Maine in 1955. I was only able to find a photo of this deer in a book published in 1991. It claims to have been the largest buck shot in Maine at that time.

I am sure this photo was not altered.

This deer isn't carrying 25lbs of head gear either.
