I cannot find any .442 Webley dies that are not out of stock and was wondering if anyone has used other dies in .44 such as the .44 mag dies. Should I get the actual dies whenever they come up or just go for .44 Mag dies?

If I recall correctly the 442 uses a healed bullet like a 22 so likely requires specific dies for such (an assumption).
No first hand knowledge but I’ve seen ads posted that state 442 and/or 44 Russian so maybe they fit the chamber (?) and might be easier to load for.
One note on the 442; they were a black powder round (low pressure) and some guns in that era we’re made out of wrought iron, not steel, so do be careful with whatever load you put in it.

My webley RIC used a .443" bullet with a .419" heel. 44 mag and 44 Russian bullets are .428" non- heeled. Don't think a 44 mag die will work for that.

What revolver are you loading for? Is it a Webley RIC or something else? There's a lot of variation between different makes of revolver from that time, with some using non heeled bullets of various diameters. If your revolver is one of those then it's possible it does use a regular non-heeled .44 bullet.
