Have some 200 grain, 260 grain and 310 grain lead bullets for 444 marlin sized to .432.

Have some accurate 5744 but can only find load data for 5744 with 240 lead bullets.. Wondering if there is any data for the bullets i have..

i know its gotta be doable. Also have some accurate 2460 and imr 4064 which might work?

Any info would be great

Try googling: Western Powders Load Data. Load data listed for the .444 Marlin includes: 5744 powder/240 gr. lswc. May be of use.

With the demise of 4759 I have changed to 5744 for my 45-70's and I use the same charge load for 250 gr slugs as I do for 405 gr...I think you will have the same results with the straight walled 444 cartridge.
The 405 gr in my 45-70 show 1250-1300 fps on the Chrono , I have never Chrono'd any of the 250's yet but estimate them somewhat faster but recoil is almost nonexistent compared to the 405's...pressures will/should be less with the 250's.

I found some data for a 200gn bullet & A-5744 powder in the 444Marlin.

How hard are your bullets? Are they Gas Checked? I'd be worried about leading at the velocities shown above.

To avoid leading, I only shoot jacketed & plated in my 444. For plinking, I find H4895 & 240gn Campro bullets rock the gong pretty good @ 2000fps.

I stocked up before things disappeared. :)

From the Lyman Cast Bullet handbook. You'll notice immense overlap in loads for all powders for the 210 and 240 gr cast bullets. You would observe the same (but to a lesser extent) for 260 gr and even 310 gr bullets. This can occur because these are cast, not jacketed bullet loads and operate well below SAAMI for the 444 Marlin, so even though pressure increases with bullet weight using the same charge, it remains below the limits of the gun.

I suggest you try 30.0-32.0 grs of 5744 for the 260 gr bullet and 28.0-30.0 grs for the 310 gr bullet. You'll be in the 1500-1600 fps range.

Im gonna try the campro bullets..as long as i keep under 2100 fps from what i read i should be good...??

When using the 240gn Campro, I keep the 444 breach pressure to less than 44Mag SAMMI pressure. 44Mag SAMMI is 36,000PSI.
If in doubt shoot Campro an email, he's quick to reply.
