444 Marlin

After some experimentation I am using Benchmark and a 270gr. Speer Gold Dot

I have a Marlin 444P.

I have found this load works quite well.

I have been think of getting some Bearstooth bullets as well or some of Hornadys NEW Leverroultion.

This is a near MAX load, please reduce by 1.5 grains and work up safely.

CCI 200 Primer
300gr Speer UniCor SP
55gr Hogdon 335

That's a nice group alright. I got very similar results with Reloder 7 and a hornady 265 out of my 444P. Once I finally get my hands on some of those 300 grain speers I hope to be lucky enough to approach that group size again.

You must be very happy, as that is an excellent all around bullet for the 444.

It's amazing how accurate these little guns are, I love mine. I also love all the armchair experts regurgitating nonsense like "the 444 has no decent bullets available" or telling me I shouldn't put a scope on my lever gun.

The same twits who tell me it shouldn't be scoped also tell me that I won't get groups anywhere near the size my boltguns are capable of. Well yeah, if I shoot my boltguns with irons I'm going to have much larger groups too...
