Many years with a pair of Ruger carbines one a sporter version the other a carbine with a four digit serial number. Many deer and black bear kills between the two guns . Sierra 240 grain HP my pet bullet with 25 grains of IMR 4227 max load work up to it . My buddies have done well with H110. The 265 Hornady or the 300 never worked well for me but the 240 XTP worked ok .but the sierra has always been a one shot kill for me through the years it may shed the jacket on a close shot but the core holds together. I owned a pair of Marlin 44 's for a few years they never shot lead bullets worth a hoot but they worked well with Remington and at that time CIL 240grain soft point factory loads .
