I took my gf to the range today and she shot a handgun for the first time. Here's the video of her very first shot from a handgun, she has only shot a .22 rifle before on one occasion. I gotta get her a bigger gun.....

I was really impressed! She wasn't shooting light loads either... I think she was a little intimidated at first before she shot it, then quickly turned to excitement. I got her a range pass so she'll be making some trips out there with me. Although, I think I'll get her something different for regular use, S&W 500 .50AE or something, just so she'll never flinch with a .22! haha

Well done to her. There used to be a girl at the where used to shoot who liked to shoot full house loads in an S&W 29 and an S&W 57. Her next revolver was to be a S&W 25 in .45 Colt. In her opinion, the .357 was a child's round. She was a petite girl who must have weighed about 45 kg soaking wet. She was a good shooter as well.

Anyone, male or female, who can comfortably lift and hold a handgun, should be able to shoot it well, with practice. The idea that 'girls' can only handle small, wimpy calibers is a myth.

It's the recoil that they have a tough time with. They can shoot whatever they want, as long as they're shooting I'm happy
