I bought a lee loader in 44mag. When I place it in the resizer it takes a good couple whaks to get in in all the way. Then it does not come out on its own.
So when it is time to put powder and bullet in I still have to force it into the die. Is this normal? Is it broke? It is frustrating.

They can be very tight. Maybe try a bit of lube on a couple brass then try them again dry.

Mine got stuck at first but now they are smooth, just need some working in.

You may also want to unscrew the top of the die all the way out and make sure there isn't a burr or something stuck in there.

Good Luck

If you look at the Lee website, they do note that certain calibres, "require considerable force for sizing." .44 Mag has the double asterisk. Not to worry - you;re trading elbow grease for money.

Bobo you and I have talked over the PMs. I know you are looking at making a lot of ammo. So buy a press and die set. You can get a small Lee for 50.00. If you don't you will start to hate reloading. If you need help with getting something PM me. I don't want to see you quit reloading.

Wow please buy a press. You will be soo much happier. Lee Turret is awesome for handgun ammo. I always recommend it to people just starting out. Ive been using it for over a year and can put out about 200 rounds an hour. Awesome for loading different cailbers and with the wuick change turrets it is real quick to change calibers as you go.
