44mag price to performance

I am always on the hunt for deals.
  • The last large pistol magnum primers I paid $50 per 1000 (5 months ago).
  • I received 7 lbs of Alliant 2400 for free
  • for bullets I use Campro Copper plated, I paid $40 for 500 (got several 1000)
  • I use the same brass since 30 years, Remington and Federal, still in great condition
  • a few weeks ago I purchased 1000 brandnew Virgin Winchester brass for $250
I am reloading 44 Magnum (and all other calibers) for pennies, but I am investing a lot of time finding these deals, which for me, is a big part of the fun.

I shoot the Barnes Vor-tx 225 gr out of my rifle and they have worked very well for me. I don't shoot enough to get into reloading so I landed on these because they're relatively cheap from Epps, which is local to me, and for hunting they have a hell of a punch.

PMC Bronze - .44 Mag., 240gr, TCSP, Box of 25 [PMC44D] Was the cheapest I was able to find get them for 28 per box of 25

That was expensive enough 10 years ago for me to buy dies immediately.
At the range Id offer interested guys a cylinder full on my Ruger SRH. In those days it was around $6 a round.

So I'd forget to lend them my padded Uncle Mikes shooting gloves..........

They'd usually fire one round abd then hand it bacl to me......

I use Winchester white box, Herters, and Magtech for hunting in my carbines for hunting. Levers and bolt actions.
All 240gr soft point and I'm sure it's all the same ammo.
I just buy it on Sale.
Sellior and Bellot is also good.
Kills everything I shoot at.
