Granted it is a 7 1/2" Blackhawk. Had it out today for 60 rnds of 240 Campros over 25gr of H110. Left me looking for more "BOOM". I've used 31.5gr of H110 under 180gr XTPs before. A fun pop to them, but still left me with a yearning for more. Anyone else go down this road and find something that scratched that itch? Obviously budget matters. I've got a couple of rifles that I might throw in to a trade, although creative presentation of the evolution to the comptroller might be required.

Buy a S&W 69 in 44mag and put old school wood grips on it. You will feel way more recoil and hear more boom ;)

I second this suggestion. I rented this exact gun at Wild West Shooting range years ago, and was ready to go back shopping in the mall after about 6 shots. Luckily, I am a severe cheapskate, and would NEVER walk out on 44 remaining rounds of ANYTHING. I manned up and shot the rest. My knuckles sure were sore. The back of the trigger guard kept smashing into my knuckle. Fack. That was painful.

There aren't tame ;)

Hmm, wonder where these stack up pressure wise. Stuffing more powder under a heavy bullet makes a bigger boom in 44 Mag, but I can load up past the top of the table any time. Sounds like making an -06 into a 300Rum by "creative" reloading. I think I'd rather step up in cartridge than begin proof testing.

Holy cr*p, Bill. Are you shooting those in your Redhawk? Those must be a handful. That is 454 territory.

Picked up a few boxes last year to give 'em a try - fun way to finish off a range visit from time to time! My handloads are pretty tame in comparison LOL.

There was a 500 Linebaugh on the EE for about 6 months. That would probably scratch the itch. LOL

The BFR 45-70 is a massive hunk of metal but you can certainly mild to wild to "Holy ****! Do I dare put my finger in the trigger guard again?"

A long time ago, I saw a 7mm Rem MAG handgun on the EE and I always wondered how that recoil must have been like.

Never had one in 7mm mag, but do shoot my 30-06 Lone Eagle regularly. Also have a TC Contender in 338jdj. Both of those are pussy cats compared to a hot 45-70. I've had 2 pistols in 444 Marlin, one ported, and one not. The ported was manageable, the unported was a mitt full. My 44mag snub barrel is pretty gentle by comparison for sure.
