.44RF rolling block, action strong enough to convert to CF?

I have a rolling block in .32 rimfire which has a poor bore with a couple of bulges. I'd like to convert it to centerfire in a caliber suitable for deer hunting. Would this be a good idea?

Do you know what make and model RB you have?

Why yes I do. It is a Remington No. 1 1/2. The large action with the octagonal top. Bit of a sledge hammer driving a tack for .32RF. I think a rebore to .38-55 would work just fine, or it could be sleeved for .32-40, or many other rounds smaller than .32.

We still don't know the make and model of the OP's rifle.

Remington, for whatever reason, I suspect safety, did not chamber the 1 1/2 in those calibres. They did chamber it in 38WCF and 44WCF which should work for deer hunting.
