45 /308 dominator,vids start at post #39

I'm not surprized about the punishment. Maybe tone the .308 handloads down a bit. On a sidenote I once rented the 10 inched T/C Contender pistol in 30-30 at Calgary Shooting Centre. One of thier staff called it a "Beast" but after firing it, now IMO I question his undeservingly ominous label. I got through all twenty rounds just fine and that 30-30 handgun was plenty accurate too boot!

Edit: I freely admit though, in these powerful single shot handguns, I place the 30-30 as my own upper limit of comfort! ;)

I once owned a TC contender with a 10 in. barrel in 30/30. It was a hell of a handgun! Can't inmagine what a 308 would be like but I'm sure it would be fun.

Good...God!

Where do I sign up to ride that thing?!

I completely agree about posting a video. We all need to live vicariously through you!

Very nice. You have my respect if you can hold onto that thing. Perhaps a muzzle brake is in your future?

Oh, and here is something for inspiration for you:

This guy does use a muzzle brake, shooting rest and a rifle action. So, I think it's safe to say you're still winning despite not chambering your pistol for a wildcat caliber.

Type in pachmayr dominator conversion. There was no one there to do video for me .It was a commercial conversion for the sillouhette crowd back in the mid 80"s. They came out in .223,7 br and 308 win. Maybe more were added...I lucked out when I bought this one a few years back. They actually proofed these at 100,000 cup of pressure at the time and the lock up is like a artillery lug cannon would. The folks shooting next to me never asked if they could fire it...although I would have offered them to shoot it...

Sweet baby Jeezuz, that is something I have never heard anyone having the cojones to pull the trigger on. Shooting my buddy's S&W 500 makes me feel like a wuss!

Well folks we may be in luck...me and a buddy are hoping to do some shooting on Sunday. My Nikon DSLR cant do video as its to dedicated,I don't own a cell phone at all. But I checked and the cheapy $200.00 canon camera at work will do video. So I took it along with spare batteries from the shop and my boss gave me 2 2 gig cards to use also...So we now have vid capability!! Gotta wait to see what the weather is like come sunday...Stay tuned....

Hey Icy, just don't limp wrist it & you'll be fine... HA HA HA, REALLY looking forward to the video!

Cheers
Jay

LOL....I aint limp wristin that thing...I already know what its like...I should name it after one of my ex girlfriends...nice to play with, fun to hold, but that ##### will kick ya hard every time!! Lets hope the weather holds up good..

Well folks I got it out again today!!! Wait that's something tac870 would say to his new love!!! But any who...I have video of it being fired and the operation of it...now there is a screw up in the upcoming video...I state to take the frame off and replace it...its the slide that is replaced with the conversion. My mistake on that one. I was 6 hours into straight shooting time with no breaks at all and was getting a little weary...but still able to handle it. I am currently trying to upload the actual shooting footage into crack bucket, but for some reason its being failed all the time. So the first vid for you fine folks is the operation and loading of this beast...and if my upload works into face book I will transfer the vid over to here....HOPEFULLY...Please be patient!!!
