You can 100% buy the Hornady 325gr FTX projectiles, also Nosler has 300gr ballistic tip ones. The load data out there will be for full length 45-70 brass. Can one get a similar projectile to the ftx?
Out of curiosity how much shorter in length is the hornady brass compared to standard sami spec length cases?I use the Hornady brass without any problems. I don’t crimp and bullets are seated out to normal length. Lee sells dies that are made to crimp the shorter Hornady brass. I find their brass lasts just as long as other brass. Most of my loads are black powder so lower pressure.
Hornady manual says FTX trim cases trim to 2.040 and regular cases trimmed to 2.095. So 0.055.Out of curiosity how much shorter in length is the hornady brass compared to standard sami spec length cases?
