I have a lever marlin 1895 GBL 45-70 with an 18.5" barrel and im starting to load for it. as 2-3 bucks a shot is nuts.

just wondering what some of your best loads are. and what would be the best brass to use for this lever. never loaded before, so im doing all the reading I can:D

I have 5 45/70's and have loaded and shot tens of thousands of rounds, In my opinion the best two bullets for the Marlins are the 350 Hornady or a hard cast between 420 and 450 grains look at the 450 hard cast from The Bullet Barn at any where around 1600 FPS it will kill anything that walks. An exellent load for Marlins that always seems to be very accurate and deadly is the 350 Hornady with 45 grains of IMR 4198 1900 fps out of my guide gun with managable recoil.
