I have never used h335 in my 45-70. However I have heard that h335 should not be reduced it can cause problems. As I understood, too much air space in the cartridge.
I was told by
An experienced shooter in Matthew Quigley Competitions to do it safely-
Use a waD over the reduced charge (44 or 48gr) is used, then a filler like cream of wheat, and another wad on top of c of wheat, leaving just enough room for the bullet to seat with minimal compression.
I used the H4198, IMR4198, and D4198 . 2.8cc , low recoil, lots of fun to shoot.
