45/70 off load

I liked mine but found even when hunting 'Timber', there was posibilites of longer shots, such as along marshes or accross cut blocks. Shots longer than I would have felt comfortable with a lever 45-70. This and the fact that hunting opportunities for myself are lessening, made me decide that a flatter cartridge like a 30-06 or better would help me take advantage of any opportunity I would be lucky to have presented to me, reducing limitations.

And that's exactly why in spite of the fact that I really love my .45-70 XLR I'm in the market for a short-barreled .338 Federal and hoping Tikka starts to chamber for it in the boar gun. Respect your choice of the .30-'06. If you're a hunter of any substance you have to know what that caliber always has been and alway will be - one of the greats of all time, just like the .270, .243, .300 Mag, .338 Mag., 6.5X55, and the .45-70. There are others, but the '06 will always be in the top few of all time. (I really need to include the 7mm Rem Mag in the list, as it is surely is a pleasure to own and hunt with)

I can't believe how many people are asking more than new $$$$ fo their guns in the EE. Not kust the guides , but others as well. I saw two nice ones that I thought I'd check against SIR and Wholesale and Frontier.

One was 200$ more than brand new.
The other 150 $ more than brand new.

You're love of a gun doesn't increase it's value to someone else !

I offloaded my guide last year, and have one again now.
Love em.

I used it this year on my bull moose (thread is out there someplace!!!). FLATTENED him, not even a twitch, looking right at me. I've shot a bunch of them with my 7mm Mag and blown them right over, but I've never seen one like this guy did - like a deflated balloon. Collapsed in his tracks. The LeveRevolution is a step up, but still only makes the .45-70 like a .450 Marlin. Load them up, hang on, shoot straight and it's awesome:sniper:

And, there ae alot of guys out there that havent seen em before... still get a "whats that" once or twice a year.
I'd like to buy a 444 Winchester 94 to go with the guide gun in 45-70. I just dont think my guide gun would get used that much than:)
but it still wont go on the block
