45-70 optics

i am looking at what optics i will buy for my 45-70.

i currently have a 3-10 bushnells 3200, but i will be putting that on my new browning blr in 308.

what do you reccomend?
i will not spend more than 120-150 including tax.
 
Umm, if you're going to shoot anything other than light factory 300g loads, you'll kill a cheap scope in short order. I wouldn't go with anything less than a Bushnell 3200. I think they make a 1.5-6X. That would be a good range for a 45/70. I'm using a older Leupold Vari-X III 1.75-6X on my Marlin 1895.
 
Yup.....I'd go with Williams peep sight on a hard recoiling 45/70, Ive seen them scramble a new Leupold 2 3/4 power scope, unless your using creampuff factory loads.
 
I've got an old Weaver K2.5 on tip-off mounts on my 1895, with the buckhorn sights intact:
