45/70 shiloh sharps non black powder

Uhhhh..... The 45-70 ammo.
Really.
Commercial ammo is loaded to the lowest common denominator. In this case, that would mean that 45-70 ammo at the store, has to be safe to fire in the weakest actions around, that the ammo might get stuffed into. For that particular caliber, you'd be working hard to find a gun that would be weaker than a Trapdoor Springfield.
It's loaded to levels equal to a not too lively black powder load, and unless the ammo says other wise on the box, should be safe in your new manufactured rifle.
IIRC there were a few loads out there that specified that they were not to be used in certain styles of firearms.
Your real worry is when you get handed someones reloads, that you don't know the exact provenance of. In a Ruger No.1, a 45-70 can be loaded up till it's as hot, or nearly, as a 458 Win Mag, and the Ruger will handle it OK. That same load will trash almost any other 45-70, though. Commercial loads are not that hot.

Springfield trapdoor low end of strength scale. Marlin in the middle ruger number 1 at the high end. Hornady and Oregon Trail have different loads for the different rifles. A full load for a ruger will destroy a springfield and the shooter.
Winchester factory ammo works fine in springfields. My Pedersoli carbine is very accurate with winchester factory loads.
There are hot loads manufactured for marlin rifles. Not to be used in springfields. I have a marlin . I don't have a number 1 ruger yet. The key is to keep the loads seperate. All cast loads are for both rifles but all my jacketed loads are only for the marlin.
Going on memory so check load books but trapdoor max pressure is about 23,000 marlin around 40,000 and ruger over 50,000.
Hodgdon has pyrodex pressure listed at around 14,000 to 21,000 re cowboy loads.

You can shoot any factory loaded 45-70 round in a Shiloh Sharps rifle.
It's the bigger 45s that have problems with white powder.
Kirk the owner of Shiloh has said many times that a Shiloh will take as much pressure as a Ruger, but it's likely they'll take even more.
