So i checked the sticky for prohibited ammo and searched the forum but i wasnt able to figure out weather this particular ammo falls into this class. I figured maybe it falls under the defeating body armor part of it but im not sure. So here are my questions:

1: Is it legal?
2: Can we get it here?
3: If yes, id like to know where.
4: If, yes but not in canada, what are the laws around importing from the states? Can we even order ammo from the states?

1. No clue (why wouldn’t it be it’s not AP by definition)
2. Depends if an importer carries it
3. Again ask the dealers

4A. You can ask someone like Irunguns if they can import it for you.

5 the question you didn’t ask... if your looking for hard hitting that’s not it, don’t waste time and money.... buffalo bore is the best you can buy and their hard cast 500grain won’t go through armour but in tests it turns anything behind the armour to Jello from the impact.

6. It’s 45-70 there is not much it won’t bring down or knock over no matter the load.
 
^ what these guys said,,,, not endorsing them as their online business has a long way to go, but Epps sometimes gets in “used” boxes of 45-70 that was traded in with a gun or part of an estate sale. That’s where my current stock pile came from at over 50% off high end buffalo bore stuff and some under 1$ a round bulkish stuff which is unheard of in 45-70

My favourite is still Hornady as it’s a great price and the best 100Y 45-70 round out there.
 
I don't believe anyone has submitted any Underwood ammo for testing. Your best bet will be sourcing it from the US which could put you in a grey/black sort of situation. I would love to get my hands on the component bullets myself. They are like an improved Barnes Buster.
