Does anyone know what the hottest 45/70 commercial load iavailable in the GTA would be? I just picked up an 1895G and wanted to try something with a little more kick.

Garrett ammo uses hardcast, heavy bullets at much higher press./vel. than std., don't know if thet are avail. anywhere.....you will just have to reload if you want top end performance in the 45/70.

There are no commercial hot 45-70 loads available in Canada. Reload, or get a 450 marlin

Will Garrett not send them up here? What about those guys who hunt in Rhodesia or South Africa? They seem to get them.

Nope.

SHIPPIN $15 ships any size order to any address in the lower-48 states (no POBS). Shipments restricted to continental U.S. All shipment is UPS ground delivery. Delivery times vary from a few days for the west coast, or up to eight days for the east coast.

PMC makes ( or made ) a higher pressure 350 gr 45-70 cartridge. P&D in Edmonton had some, but that's not much help for GTA. I don't know who the distributor is these days.
